How do AI assistants see your business?
When a customer asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity for the best café nearby, an app that does what yours does, or what your service costs, the answer comes from what AI can find and read about you. AICanary tells you what that is.
The problem
More buying decisions start as a question to an AI assistant. If the assistant has never read your site, you simply don't exist in the answer. If it read it long ago, it quotes old prices and old opening hours. Most owners never see these answers, so nobody notices.
It is more common than it sounds. When we ran the first checks on our own portfolio of twenty-plus live products, eight of them served AI crawlers no readable content at all, including products we considered well built.
What AICanary does
- Foundation check. A free, instant test of whether AI can read your site at all: crawler access, readable content, sitemap, llms.txt. Most fixes take an afternoon.
- Presence probes. We ask the assistants the questions your customers ask, several times, across providers, and measure how often you appear in the answer.
- Accuracy probes. We ask about you directly and flag answers that contradict your real prices, hours, and offering.
- Weekly report. Trend lines instead of single-shot verdicts, because assistant answers vary. You see when you disappear, when facts drift, and when a fix starts working.
The name
Miners carried canaries because the bird noticed bad air before anyone else did. AICanary watches the AI layer of your business the same way: a small, early signal before the damage shows up in revenue.
